The sizes of pressure washers vary differently according to model. There are models that are made for residential use, models made for commercial use, and models that are made to be used exclusively for industrial settings. The later are the usually the biggest models and are the most powerful. They can generate enough power to remove the paint of cars down to its bare metal.
Normally, when you think about pressure washers, you will immediately assume that having more power is better. True. Although this is not applicable in most cases as there are pressure washers that are too powerful and will tend to do more damage rather than clean. A pressure washer unit that is intended for use in the home should not be so powerful and should only have around 1000 to 1500 PSI. If you use a pressure washer that can generate around 3000 PSI or more for cleaning your car, then you will likely strip the paint off of your car instead of cleaning it.
The main reason for having a pressure washer is to help make your cleaning task easier and not damage or destroy the surface you plan on cleaning. This makes it important to identify the cleaning tasks you will be using your pressure washer unit with before buying one to ensure that it is the most suitable one for your cleaning needs.
